Tracxn: Southeast Asia tech funding jumps 176% to $13.5B, three deals drive most of the rise
The headline total jumped, but so did concentration. For angel investors, a regional total says little about the seed-stage market they actually operate in.

A Tracxn report cited by TechNode Global on 5 October 2026 says Southeast Asia tech funding jumped 176% to $13.5 billion, with three deals driving most of that growth. The dollar jump is large, but the more useful detail is how it was produced: the regional total now leans on a handful of very large transactions.

Deals behind most of the growth
The pattern is not new here. In late September, TechNode Global reported Kickstart Ventures data showing DayOne's $4.5 billion round lifted first-half 2026 Southeast Asian startup funding to $7.25 billion. When a few infrastructure deals dominate the tally, the total stops describing the early-stage market where angels and seed-stage venture capital actually work.
