Crunchbase News' most recent ranking of the ten biggest funding rounds was led by cybersecurity, AI and health. What the three share is not technology but the payer: enterprise budgets, security budgets and healthcare reimbursement — spending that flexes less than consumer wallets.

For angel investors, the list is not a shopping guide but a signal of where later-stage capital is still abundant. Early cheques only have an exit if later rounds have buyers. At the same time, the cheque sizes in these leading categories are far beyond angel range, so the practical use is picking adjacent layers rather than competing head-on.
