Southeast Asia AI funding hits $4.1B in 2026 — but one deal accounts for $2.8B
Per Tracxn data, Southeast Asia's native AI companies have raised $4.1B so far in 2026, more than double all of last year — largely on the back of a single $2.8B round.

Crowdfund Insider, citing Tracxn, reports that funding for Southeast Asia's native AI companies reached $4.1B so far in 2026, more than double the full-year 2025 figure. The composition matters more than the headline: most of the increase came from a single $2.8B round. Strip it out and the rest of the region shares roughly $1.3B — a very different picture.

Tracxn data also shows logistics tech ($21.1B) and payments ($20.8B) remain Southeast Asia's most-funded sectors on a cumulative basis. The region's capital depth sits where goods and money move — not at the foundation-model layer.
