Crunchbase News recorded a monster week for US startup funding: The Boring Co. at $3B, Cognition at $2B, Motive at $1.3B and Stoke Space at $1B.

Tunnelling company The Boring Co. led with a $3 billion Series D, followed by AI coding startup Cognition at $2 billion, fleet management platform Motive at $1.3 billion and reusable rocket developer Stoke Space at $1 billion.

Beyond the leaders, Crunchbase said big checks also flowed to US solar manufacturing, defense tech, legal AI, and companies building the chips and networking infrastructure needed for artificial intelligence. The picture is not an easy market for everyone, but very large sums moving into a narrow set of companies with commercial proof or hard-to-copy technology.
