Aug 17–20: corporate funds appear in nearly every hard-tech round
Google, Salesforce Ventures, Woven Capital, Samsung Catalyst Fund, Aramco Ventures, Intel Capital and Mirae Asset Capital all showed up in the week's satellite, semiconductor and medtech rounds.

What the rounds announced on 17–20 August 2026 share is not size but investor lists. Muon Space (space infrastructure, Mountain View) raised a $250M Series C with Google, Salesforce Ventures, Woven Capital, Eclipse, Galvanize, Wellington Management and I Squared Capital, taking equity raised above $386M. Velaura AI (power-efficient AI inference silicon) raised a $110M Series A above a $1B valuation led by Seligman Ventures, with Samsung Catalyst Fund and StepStone Group. Medtech MaxQ closed a $31.5M Series A with Olympus Innovation Ventures as a strategic participant.

The same weekly roundups list Aramco Ventures, Bessemer and Y Combinator (20 Aug), plus Intel Capital and Mirae Asset Capital (17 Aug). In sectors gated by certification, supply chains and institutional buyers, a corporate fund on the cap table does not validate the product, but it usually brings knowledge of regulatory pathways, manufacturing and how hospitals or plants actually buy.
