Southeast Asia startup funding fell 84% in July 2026 after June's megadeal surge
DealStreetAsia recorded a sharp monthly drop; meanwhile regional native-AI startup funding reached $4.1bn, but mostly from a single deal.

In a deal review published on Aug. 14, 2026, DealStreetAsia said Southeast Asian startup funding fell 84% in July after a surge of megadeals in June. It is a familiar regional pattern: totals swing on a handful of large rounds while deal counts stay flat or fall.
